Here are just a few ways you can help Wags and Walks

Depending on what kind of dogs you are comfortable with (large, small, puppy, adult, etc), we will fit you with the perfect dog that you can foster until we find their forever home!  During the time you are fostering, we ask that you communicate with us about your availability for meet and greets with potential adopters, attend adoption events, and walk your foster with an “ Adopt Me” vest or bandanna.

Most importantly we ask that you provide love and comfort during the dog’s transition.  Wags and Walks will provide all supplies needed in order to make your fostering experience as comfortable and fun as possible!  The benefits to fostering are endless, but according to our previous fosters the best part is knowing you have played a crucial role in saving a life!

Wags Club/ Dog Walking:

If you’re interested in spending time with some of our adorable adoptable dogs, the Wags Club is the place for you! Located in West LA, near the 405, we now have a cozy space where a few of our adoptable dogs can stay while waiting for their forever home!

Since these dogs are not in foster care, we rely on our amazing volunteers to sign up for shifts to take care of them! Whether you can come once a month, once a week, or all the time, we sincerely appreciate those who take time out of their busy lives to walk, feed, and care for all of our dogs.

Wags members will give you an orientation to the Wags Club to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during your shift. We also encourage coming in pairs - and what is better than spending time with a friend AND playing with dogs?

Adoption Events & Special Events:

Wags and Walks holds regular adoption events at The Grove in West Hollywood and The Dog Bakery in Mar Vista.  We also attend special adoption events and publicity events throughout the year.  In order to successfully execute an adoption event or special event, we need an amazing team of volunteers to help transport and give love to our available dogs, inform potential adopters about the adoption process and collect volunteer/ potential adopter emails for future communication.   It is also a great way to get together, have fun and celebrate our successes!

Transporting Dogs:

Wags and Walks visits high kill shelters in and around Los Angeles multiple times a week. Often times we need help transferring multiple dogs from the shelters to our vets, groomers, fosters, etc. This typically takes place on week days - so if you have a flexible schedule, this would be a HUGE help!

Spreading the Word:

Whether it be sharing Facebook posts, following us on Instagram, or re-tweeting us, social media has been a key to our success.

We also plan events in which we seek auction items and sponsors. If you are interested in helping us reach out to corporations, local businesses, and anywhere and everywhere in between, we appreciate all of the help that we can get!

If you have any other talents that you think would be helpful to Wags and Walks, PLEASE let us know!!
