Morgan's Wags Story

Hi everyone! My name is Morgan, and I am part of the Wags and Walks social media team. I’m very excited to share my story of how I became involved with Wags and Walks. I love being involved with an organization that is really making a difference in the lives of both the animals and the wonderful families that adopt them.

Ever since I was little, I needed a pup by my side. At about two years old, there were only a few things that mattered to me… puppies and patent leather shoes. As soon as I could speak, the only thing that came out of mouth was “DOGGIE”!

We didn’t have a family dog at the time and every morning when I woke up I would cry until my mom agreed to take me to the pet store to play with the puppies. Luckily, my plan worked. One glorious morning my mom called my dad at work and told him that she could not spend every day at the pet store and that we needed to get a dog. Enter Lucy.

Lucy was an amazing dog and even better family member. I have the best memories of growing up with Lucy, but when I was 12 years old and she passed away, I was devastated. After a few months of grieving, I dragged my parents out to get another pup and we came home with Duke. He was stubborn, too good looking for his own good, and absolutely hilarious. His past times included eating my sandwiches, chasing squirrels and knocking absolutely everything over with his big fluffy tail.

Both of these dogs taught me how life changing having a pet can be. Unfortunately, I don’t have a dog of my own at the moment. I am a lover of big dogs and the apartment I share with my fiancé Mark isn’t conducive to owning a large dog. Luckily, Mark is a dog lover as well and we can’t wait to get a pup of our own from Wags and Walks when the time is right. By the way, this is Mark...

Since I can’t have a dog of my own at the moment, I devote my free time to helping pups in need. After researching some shelters in the area, I decided Wags and Walks was the right fit for me. This organization, and everyone who is a part of it works around the clock to help as many dogs in the L.A. area as they possibly can. My contribution to the organization includes taking photos at adoption events, creating new adoptable photo collages and helping manage the Wags and Walks Facebook page.

There is nothing more exciting and rewarding than seeing a family fall in love with one of our adoptable dogs and knowing that these sweet animals will be loved and cared for.

I feel so lucky to be a part of the Wags and Walks team and I am constantly impressed by the dedication the organization displays to helping animals in need. I hope that you will continue to read our blog and follow us on social media to get updates on our new adoptables and amazing success stories.
