Friday is finally here and we are so ready for an amazing weekend! Now today is a special Friday. If you haven’t noticed, it’s Friday the 13th and it’s October, which is already a spooky month. To counteract any bad luck that might be happening today, we wanted to share some good luck that we have been given and keep our karma positive. Today we are featuring an amazing foster, that we are beyond LUCKY to have. Read on to learn more about Jessica Torrento and her experience fostering with Wags and Walks:
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I'm 37 years old married with 2 teenagers and 1 dog 3 cats. I'm a stay home mom for right now. I'm a animal lover and advocate for pit bulls. They are my hobby, trying to help them the most I can. Fostering for W&W has been amazing experience. I see myself working with dogs or doing anything related with them in the future.
What got you started fostering for Wags & Walks?
Love just love for Dogs <3
To date, how many dogs have you fostered for Wags? Do you have a favorite? (Don't worry, we won't tell the others!)
Lol. 6-7 foster and yes, I have to admit it, I do have a favorite and it was AVA.
What has been your biggest challenge fostering?
Letting them go!!!
How has fostering affected you?
Makes me more strong and patient. Gets me sad when they're still in their shell, but also makes me become more educated to help.
What has been your biggest surprise as a foster parent?
Every dog has a different personality. But it is amazing to see them getting adopted and having good life. They often come from bad situations, but seeing them going to a nice home reminds me that there are always good people out there, which was surprising.
Do you have any advice for someone who is interested in becoming a foster?
Yes just try and do it. It is going to be a great experience that will probably change your life.
Thank you, Jessica, for sharing your inspiring foster experience with us and continuing to spread your love for helping all animals in need!
