Happy Wednesday Everyone! We are back with our latest Wagging Tails Wednesday feature, and this week we would like to introduce you to Peggy (fka Tabitha), who was adopted by Rich and Susan a few months back. We love hearing about the first time our adopters fell in love with their future pet and how that dog fits into the framework of the family. This little girl took no time to find her place, making her family wonder what they ever did without her. Read on to learn more about Peggy’s story:
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your dog (when did you adopt him/her, is this your first dog, etc.).
We adopted Peggy in February and she is our second pup! Her big brother is Harry Winston, a 4-year-old pitbull/boxer mix, and they love each other so much. Lots of cuddling and playtime at our house!
How did you find out about Wags & Walks?
I’ve been following the organization on Instagram for awhile, and the adoption center opened up right across the street from our doggie daycare.
How did you know your dog was “the one”?
We saw the silliest photo of her on the website and just knew we had to meet her. She was super tired the day we met her, but Harry loved playing with her and we just knew she was meant to be a part of our family!
Have there been any challenges or setbacks you’ve had to overcome? What was your biggest surprise?
She’s been a bit of a chewer (rugs, walls, furniture, you name it and she has chewed it) and we’re still working on her leash etiquette. Our biggest surprise was how quickly Harry and her bonded, they really are the best of friends.
What is your favorite thing about your dog? Does he/she have any funny quirks?
She is a funny little lady – she makes the silliest noises and loves rolling around in her brother’s bed. Peggy also hates getting up in the morning and will often go back to bed while we are trying to leash her up for her morning walk.
What is your favorite thing about being a doggy parent?
The unconditional love, and also the excuse to get out of anything early because “we have to walk the dogs!” ;)
How has your dog changed you?
We’re definitely up earlier in the morning now, haha. They both have also just made us appreciate the little things so much more and help us live more in the moment.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about you and your pup?
We are so grateful to Wags and Walks for rescuing our sweet pup, and for all the work they do!
Thank you Rich and Susan for sharing your story with us and giving Peggy an amazing home! Looking to add to your family? Check please visit our website to see our available dogs and fill out an adoption application.
