On Saturday, September 16, Wags & Walks hosted the 7th Annual Wags & Walks Benefit Gala, supporting our mission to save family-friendly dogs from high-kill shelters and place them in loving homes within the community. This year was especially important for us to raise critical funds, as we recently expanded and opened our very own Wags & Walks Adoption Center.
Thanks to our dedicated supporters, volunteers, and sponsors (especially Arnold Stiefel, JPMS, Poms and Associates Insurance Brokers, and Tracey Gluck), Wags & Walks exceeded our fundraising goal and we were able to raise enough funds to save more than 1,200 dogs in need!
Actress Judy Greer and Personal Trainer/Author Tony Horton emceed the benefit, which was held at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. Over 400 dog-loving guests were in attendance, including Honoree Arnold Stiefel, Actress Paris Jackson, Actress AJ Cook, and several Los Angeles Kings players including Jeff Carter, Anze Kopitar, Tyler Toffoli, Jake Muzzin and Nic Dowd.
Arnold Stiefel took home the Happy Homes Hero Award for helping us save countless dogs over the years, including a Wags & Walks alumni, Noodle. Mallory Poms & the Poms family took home the PAWsitive People Award for fostering hundreds of dogs and nursing them back to health while they wait for their forever home. And last but not least, Teddy took home the Hero Pup Award. Teddy was one of the first dogs saved from the shelter by Wags & Walks, and after a long road of recovery, he is alive, well, and living his best life with his sister Lola. Although he was malnourished, scared, and neglected, Teddy was able to overcome his past and is now happily (and healthily!) living in his forever home.
The Wags & Walks Gala has become our biggest fundraising event, and a wonderful way to show our volunteers, supporters and donors how much we appreciate them. Check out the pictures from our photo booth here! We hope to see you there next year!
