Today is Wednesday, so you know what that means...it’s time to make some tails wag with our Wagging Tail Wednesday!
Today, we would love to introduce you to Boots, who was adopted by the Lila and her family. It was love at first sight for this family, and Boots has even made a name for herself around the neighborhood with her sweet demeanor and tricks (like a high five)! To hear about Boots and her furever family’s story keep reading.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your dog.
As a family, we’d been on the hunt for a while to find a sweet, loving pup we could call family. Our daughter Lila did all the research. She found Wags & Walks and one day noticed the rescued Royal Family of Corgi puppies. The one named “Kate” had our name on it!
How did you know your dog was “the one”?
It was love at first sight! We fell in love with her photo on the Wags & Walks’ website. We were the first people to show up at the adoption at the Dog Bakery. We met “Kate” and her royal siblings. “Pippa” and “Harry” were awfully cute as well. Something about “Kate’s” demeanor felt like she belonged to us.
Have there been any challenges or setbacks you’ve had to overcome? What was your biggest surprise?
Boots was a young puppy when we brought her home. It was a little rough in the beginning but worth it – and the early mornings/late nights pass quickly.
What is your favorite thing about your dog? Does he/she have any funny quirks?
Boots is very well behaved. She is the favorite pup in the neighborhood. Everyone says hi to her on her walks. We’ve trained her to sit, shake paw AND give high five. That is always a crowd pleaser!
She knows when we start to put on our shoes that we’re leaving the house and she runs to the garage door. It always makes us sad when we can’t take her.
We named her Boots not because she is wearing boots on her paws (which she is) but because Boots is our favorite store in London and being a “royal pup” we thought it would be fitting.
What is your favorite thing about being a doggy parent?
We feel happy that we have given a loving home to a needy dog. She loves us just as much as we love her!
Is there anything else you’d like to share about you and your pup?
Boots’ mother is part Corgi so we thought she was a Corgi. She looked like one as a puppy. Soon she grew up and looked less like a Corgi – or as we say, she’s the world’s tallest Corgi. Our daughter started an Instagram account for @BootsTheAlmostCorgi. We love taking Boots around town, snapping photos and posting them. Please follow Boots!
Thank you Lila and family for giving Boots an amazing home and sharing your story with us!
