Gracie’s Story

We visited our local shelter partner today, and came across the sweetest and yet saddest girl. Her name is Gracie and we’re asking for your help as we’re committed to finding a hospice foster for her.

She’s got quite a few tumors, the most notable being a massive inoperable tumor on her face. Given her medical condition, the shelter had no choice but to euthanize her tomorrow unless a rescue stepped up, and we aren’t going to let her leave this world without knowing she’s loved.

Gracie is as sweet as they come. She’s gentle, happy and did great meeting multiple dogs at the shelter. While we aren’t sure what her timeline will be given the severity of the tumors, her comfort will be our number priority. As of now, she’s eating, wagging her tail, getting around like normal and has plenty love to give. Wags and Walks will be paying for all of her medical bills and will provide any and all supplies to make sure she’s comfy and cozy.

Update on Gracie

RIP, Gracie 🌈 🤍 Earlier this week, we were able to get Gracie into the vet for a full work up and exam of her tumors. Our vets discovered that the tumor on her face was causing facial and partial body paralysis. Gracie was experiencing a substantial amount of pain and was showing signs of deterioration. With the recommendation of our vet partners, we made the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our Gracie girl.

Gracie got to spend a week living with one of our incredible staff members. She was showered in love, spoiled with all of the treats a dog could desire, and got to live a carefree life in the comfort of a warm home. While we’re devastated that Gracie didn’t get more time experiencing the good life, we’re so thankful she received unconditional love and kindness in her final days.

Thank you for your unwavering support and loving Gracie like she were your own. With the additional funds raised for Gracie’s care, we will continue to save more medical pups in her honor. Rest easy and pain-free, sweet girl. 🌈 🐾
