Pep the Rescue Pup: A Heartwarming Children’s Picture Book About Acceptance, Empathy, and Family.
Perfect for dog lovers, parents, teachers, and anyone who believes being “different” is something to celebrate!
This is a free event for children ages 6-10. We’ll begin with the book reading by the author followed by a Dog Doodle session with Pep coloring pages, and time with adorable adoptable rescue pup!
Please note:
A parent or guardian must be present with every child.
Make sure to register to reserve a spot for you and your Child.
Space is limited, so all attendees must be registered and confirmed. No extra guests, please!
Close-toed shoes are required.

AUTHOR BIO
Sarah Nolen is a television writer and producer whose credits include The Americans, Foundation, Extrapolations, Moonhaven, Dune: Prophecy, Beacon 23, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and RoboCop, as well as the Tribeca-premiered Spotify podcast Red Frontier.
Pep is Sarah's first picture book, illustrated by Laura Supnik. The idea came to her one night while reading a bedtime story to her niece and nephew — she noticed how few stories featured aunts or dog moms and decided to write one herself. Inspired by her own rescue pup, Pep follows a real-life rescue dog with a big heart and an even bigger imagination through cross- country road trips and everyday adventures, learning — sometimes one brave step at a time — that family isn't only who raises you, but who shows up for you. Sarah lives in Los Angeles with the real-life Pep.

Things To Note:
All fosters must be at least 21 years of age to foster.
Foster dogs should be kept on a leash at all times outside of the home unless they are in a private enclosed backyard.
We cover all medical expenses for the dog. Any medical-related issue or care needs to be brought to us first before seeking treatment.
Sometimes a pup isn't the right fit, and that's okay. We have a 72-hour transition policy for non-emergencies.

Wags for Good: Community Low Cost Vaccine Clinic
Keep your pets healthy and protected at our upcoming community vaccine clinic!
Our partners at Low Cost Pet Vaccines will be offering affordable, essential vaccinations for dogs and cats and our team will be onsite to provide free pet food and supplies, available while supplies last.
This event is designed to make preventive care accessible to everyone in the community, helping your pets stay safe, happy, and up to date on their shots.
Services and giveaways are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early to ensure you’re able to take full advantage of everything available.

Pups, Petals & Pours: Craft Night at Wags
Join us for a cozy and creative evening at our Candle Rolling Class —a special collaboration supporting rescue dogs in need! 🐾🕯️
In this hands-on workshop led by our partners at Design Hive, you’ll be guided through the art of candle making from start to finish! Begin by hand-rolling natural beeswax sheets into beautifully crafted candles, then add a personal touch by creating a delicate pressed-flower keepsake—choose between a tag or bookmark, thoughtfully sealed with a clear finish.
Best of all, a portion of every ticket goes directly toward helping our rescue pups get the care, shelter, and second chances they deserve. Whether you’re a candle lover, a dog enthusiast, or just looking for a unique night out, this event is the perfect way to give back while getting creative!
