Meet Ducky! This adorable 2-year-old, 22lb mixed-breed girl may have little legs, but she has a whole lot of love to give! Ducky can be nervous when she first meets people and may feel especially overwhelmed by loud sounds, but once she gets outside and has a chance to settle in, her sweet personality comes through! As soon as Ducky settles in, her tail starts wagging and she wants to be as close to her person as possible! After taking a few minutes to sniff and explore, she is content to spend the rest of her time right in her person's lap! Ducky absolutely loves soaking up pets and attention once she feels comfortable. She’s easy to leash and has been a sweet, gentle girl despite being understandably nervous in her new surroundings. Ducky has also been reported to do well with dogs, kids, and cats! If you’re looking for a pint-sized companion with an extra-sweet personality and the cutest little legs around, Ducky might just be your girl!
Meet Clover! This sweet 3-year-old, 55lb Shepherd mix is a gentle, affectionate girl who is looking for someone who will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe. Clover can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but once she realizes she’s in good hands, her sweet personality starts to shine! Clover is happiest when she’s close to her people. Once outside, she loves being right by her person's side and spends most of her time trying to climb into their lap for cuddles! She enjoys attention and affection and seems to find comfort in simply being close to someone she trusts. Clover is easy to leash and walks nicely, and she has no trouble heading back into her kennel after outings. She has also been noted to be friendly with both dogs and children! If you’re looking for a sweet girl who just wants to feel safe and loved, Clover is ready to meet you!
Meet Baloo! This sweet 4-year-old, 35lb mixed-breed boy is ready to leave his past behind and find a family of his own. Baloo came to us after he was found alongside two other dogs on the side of the road, and thankfully, Good Samaritans made sure all three pups made it safely to the shelter. Baloo is a friendly, people-loving guy who enjoys attention and being around other pups and people! He can be a little vocal when he’s excited, especially when he knows it’s time to get out of his kennel, but once he’s out, he’s easy to handle and happy to explore. He enjoys spending time in the yard, checking out all the new sights and smells, and will happily come over to his people for some attention. Baloo is reported to be both dog- and kid-friendly, and he walks nicely with only a little pulling and is easy to get back into his kennel after an outing. If you’re looking for a friendly, easygoing pup who is so full of love, Baloo is ready to meet you!
Meet Wanda! This 2-year-old, 82lb Mastiff mix is a big, beautiful sweetie with an even bigger heart. Wanda was found after being left with two other dogs in a kennel on the side of the road, and now she’s ready to leave that difficult chapter behind and find a loving home of her own! Wanda may be a big girl, but she is incredibly gentle, tolerant, and affectionate. She absolutely loves getting pets and will happily wiggle her way as close to you as possible so she can soak up all the attention. If there’s an opportunity to lean into her person for some love, Wanda is taking it! Wanda is also reported to be wonderful with kids, dogs, and cats, and she'll thrive in a variety of homes. She has a calm, easygoing nature and seems to take everything in stride. And then there’s that face! Wanda has the cutest collection of wrinkles and a wonderful underbite that are truly unmatched! If you’ve always wanted a gentle giant who will happily be your oversized cuddle buddy, Wanda could be your girl.
Meet Harry! This adorable 4-year-old, 24.5lb Frenchie mix is a friendly, affectionate little guy with plenty of personality. From the moment he meets you, Harry is ready to make a friend! He’s quick to warm up, loves attention, and has been known to give plenty of kisses and happily climb into a lap for some love. Harry is a playful boy who enjoys spending time outside, especially when there are squeaky toys or stuffed toys involved. He can entertain himself with his toys but also loves checking in with his people for pets and attention. He’s food motivated and eager to engage with his people, which will be a great asset as he continues working on his manners! Harry has shown some resource guarding around toys and will need adopters who are comfortable managing this behavior and continuing to work with him. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a big personality packed into a little body, Harry is ready to meet you!
Meet Jenny! This sweet 2-year-old, 54lb Poodle mix is a playful, affectionate girl who loves being around her people. She can be a little shy at first, but once she’s comfortable, Jenny is happy to lean in for pets, settle beside you, and soak up some attention! Jenny has a playful side, too! She loves toys and had a great time playing with her canine friends. She also enjoys exploring and sniffing around the yard and will happily sit for a treat or toy. Jenny has done well with other dogs and she’s also been reported to do well with children! She may pull a bit on leash when she’s excited, but she settles nicely once she’s outside and has already shown that she can walk calmly on leash at times. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful girl who loves toys, cuddles, and spending time with her people, Jenny is ready to meet you!
Meet Forrest! This sweet 4-year-old, 66lb Poodle mix is an affectionate boy who is happiest when he’s by your side. Forrest is an easygoing guy who walks nicely on leash and has been easy to handle while on walks. He may pull a little when he gets excited, but his leash manners have already been improving since his arrival! Once outside, Forrest loves exploring, sniffing around, and spending time with his people. He loves to sit next to his humans for some snuggles and pets. Forrest is also playful and has done well with other dogs! He enjoys engaging with other pups in play and has shared toys nicely with his canine friends! He has also done well with children and would love a family who will include him in their everyday life. This smart boy already knows “sit” and “shake” and is also very easygoing when it’s time to head back to his kennel. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who loves people, enjoys canine company, and is happiest soaking up love, Forrest could be your perfect match!
Meet Stitch! This 5-year-old, 56lb mixed-breed boy is a big, lovable mush with an even bigger head and a whole lot of affection to give! Stitch is the kind of dog who seems to think he’s a lap dog, and honestly, he may be right! He loves attention and is happiest when he’s getting pets and spending time with his people. Stitch is a wiggly guy who gets very excited when he sees new friends. He walks well on leash and responds nicely to corrections! And this boy has personality for days! Stitch has been known to sit up in the silliest way, adding an extra dose of goofy charm to an already irresistible face. He’s also reported to be friendly with both dogs and kids! If you’re looking for a big-headed, big-hearted sweetheart who will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give, Stitch is ready to meet you!
Meet Sansa! This 2-year-old, 35lb mixed-breed girl is a big ball of energy with an even bigger personality! Sansa is a fun-loving, enthusiastic pup who is always ready to get moving, make a new friend, and be part of whatever is happening around her. She can be jumpy and gets excited when she’s ready to get out and explore, but underneath all that enthusiasm is a genuinely sweet girl who loves people. She’ll thrive with a family who can keep her active and give her plenty of opportunities for exercise, play, and enrichment! Sansa is reported to be dog- and kid-friendly, so she could be a great fit for an active household looking for a fun canine companion! If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, high-energy pup who is always ready for the next adventure, Sansa is your girl!
Meet Fran! This sweet 4-year-old, 41.5lb mixed-breed girl came to us from a cruelty case and is learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Fran can be timid at first, but once she warms up, she becomes the sweetest, most affectionate cuddle bug. She wants to be right by her person’s side wherever they go, and if you’re sitting down, she’ll find a way to be touching you! Fran has a medium energy level and is usually calm and relaxed, though she definitely has a playful side! She enjoys playing with her people and loves being outside when things are quiet and peaceful. Because the world can still feel a little overwhelming to Fran, she’d do best in a quiet area where she can feel safe and comfortable. A fenced-in yard would be ideal, giving her a peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors without the stress of busy walks. Fran is doing well with potty training and is making progress with her crate, though she currently feels much more comfortable relaxing in a secure room with her bed and blanket. She’s also shown she can enjoy the company of other laidback dogs and is good with kids, cats, and people! This sweet girl has been through so much, and we can't wait to see her find the forever home she deserves.
Meet Priscilla! This 12-year-old, 6lb Yorkie mix is a quirky little lady with a very sweet soul. As a senior girl, Priscilla is looking for a caring, patient home where she can slow down and enjoy her golden years surrounded by comfort, safety, and love. Priscilla is gentle, mellow, and very low energy. She’s happiest spending most of her day curled up somewhere cozy, catching up on her beauty sleep, and enjoying the simple things in life. She’s been living in a home with other dogs and does well with canine companions, but because of her age and quiet nature, she’d be happiest with laidback dogs who won’t overwhelm her. Priscilla doesn’t mind her crate, though she can get a little confused when she can’t figure out how to get back out. She isn’t fully potty trained and will try to use pee pads, but sometimes has trouble keeping her business on the pad. Her future family should be prepared for some patience and occasional accidents as she settles in. Like many senior dogs, Priscilla has some hearing and vision loss, so she may need a little extra time to adjust to her surroundings. If you’re looking for a tiny pup to share a quiet, cozy life with, Priscilla would love to meet you!
Meet the Cat Litter! These adorable 8-week-old Aussie/Pyrenees mix puppies are a bunch of fluffy little personalities who are expected to grow into large dogs. They’ll thrive in a variety of homes, whether that means having a canine sibling to grow up with or being the spoiled solo pup who gets all the attention! As with any puppy, the Cat Litter will need adopters who are excited to take on all the fun and responsibility of puppyhood. They’ll need guidance as they master their puppy basics! Because of their Aussie/Pyrenees mix, these pups will likely thrive best in a home with a fenced-in yard or direct access to the outdoors. If you’re ready for the joys and challenges of puppyhood, one of these fluffy cuties could be your perfect match!

Meet Cheetoh! This adorable 10-week-old, 7lb Chihuahua mix is a tiny little prince who would happily spend his days being carried around like a baby. He’s a sweet, cuddly puppy with plenty of classic Chihuahua charm packed into his little body! Cheetoh is wonderful with both people and other dogs. He loves being close to his humans and is always happy to soak up some attention and cuddles. He can be a little nervous when things get loud or unfamiliar, but he warms up very quickly once he realizes he’s safe. For such a young puppy, Cheetoh is already impressively quiet and settles well in his kennel. When it’s time to relax, he loves curling up with his stuffy toys, most of which are hilariously bigger than he is! Cheetoh will thrive in a variety of loving homes with adopters who are excited to take on puppyhood and guide him as he grows. If you’re looking for a tiny cuddle buddy who thinks he’s royalty, Cheetoh could be your perfect little prince!
Meet McKinney! This 1-year-old, 48lb Shepherd mix is a big, goofy puppy at heart with plenty of energy, personality, and enthusiasm to share. If you’re looking for a dog who’s always ready for his next adventure, McKinney may be your guy! McKinney is a sweet boy who is friendly with people and loves getting out to explore. He has major puppy energy and is still learning how to channel all that excitement. He’ll need some continued work on his leash manners, as he can pull and get very excited when he sees something interesting. His excitement can be a lot to handle, so thoughtful introductions and continued training will be important. He does better once he’s in the yard with canine friends, and has been playful and social in play group, where he enjoys running and romping with other dogs! McKinney would thrive with an active adopter who understands Shepherds and is excited to help him build his leash skills, impulse control, and confidence. He’s an energetic, playful pup with so much potential, and we can’t wait to see him blossom in the right home!
Meet Ross! This 1-year-old, 50lb Poodle mix is a sweet, affectionate boy with a playful spirit and a whole lot of love to give. Ross is still settling into his new surroundings, but one thing is already clear: he absolutely loves being around his people! Ross is always excited to get out and spend time with his humans. He loves sticking close by, checking in with his people, and occasionally jumping up to say hello. He’s especially sweet with people and has done well with children, too! Ross is also calm around other dogs and seems to coexist nicely with them. The busy kennel environment can make him a little nervous, especially when other dogs are barking, so he’d likely appreciate a home where he can settle in and decompress at his own pace. He loves big stuffed toys! Even better, he’s gentle with them and enjoys carrying them around without turning them into stuffing confetti. If you're looking for a loving, easygoing, people-oriented pup who has an affinity for giant stuffies, Ross may be your guy!
Meet Iris! This 2-year-old, 55lb mixed breed girl is finally ready to start her own chapter. After lovingly raising her litter of puppies, Iris deserves a forever home where she can soak up all the love and attention herself. Since separating from her puppies, Iris has really started to blossom. Iris has a wonderful balance of energy. She enjoys her walks and would happily spend time playing, but she's just as content settling in for a cozy nap afterward. Iris is doing wonderfully with her foster's resident dog and would likely enjoy having a canine sibling, though she could also thrive as a spoiled solo pup. She's a happy girl who loves mealtime, walks, and all the little routines that make up everyday life! She's also an absolute dream on leash! Iris is fully potty trained and is making great progress with her crate training! Her foster also says she’s the BEST copilot in the car and loves to tag along. Iris has spent so much of her young life taking care of everyone else. Now, it's finally her turn to be someone's baby.

FAQs
+ Why is your adoption fee $500?
At Wags and Walks Nashville, our adoption fee reflects the high standard of care and comprehensive process we provide to ensure every dog is ready for their forever home. This fee helps cover essential expenses such as:
- Veterinary care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, and microchipping.
- Necessary medical treatments or surgeries for dogs with special needs.
- Daily care, food, and supplies while in our program.
- Behavioral evaluations and training support as needed.
- Transportation costs for dogs rescued from high-risk situations.
- Additionally, this fee supports our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome more dogs in need. We are committed to providing the best possible care for each dog, and your adoption fee directly contributes to their health, safety, and happiness, as well as our ongoing rescue efforts. Thank you for helping us save lives!
+ Do you adopt out of state?
We do! We require out of state adopters to travel to Nashville to meet and pick up their pup. We Understand that's tricky and may be a deal breaker for most.
+ How long does the process take?
It varies depending on the dog and the amount of applications our team has to review. The first step in the process is to submit an online application, which is non-binding. After that we'll coordinate a phone or in-person interview, and set up a meet and greet at our Adoption Center. We are typically able to process applications within a week of completion so we advise people to apply once they know they're ready to take home that same week.
+ Can you hold a dog for me?
Unfortunately, we cannot hold dogs. We plan meet and greets based on when the applications arrive. If you are interested in a dog, fill out the application right away. If we are having an adoption event, arrive early for the best chance to adopt. The same is true at our Adoption Center.
+ Do you offer a trial period?
We don't offer trials. As a primarily foster-based organization, we do our best to keep transitions to a minimum for the dogs. It's in their best interest to have a stable environment and we try to avoid bouncing them around so they have consistency and routine. We offer meet and greets as the final step of the adoption process so applicants can meet and spend time with the dog of interest.
+ Do you offer discounted rates?
We do not offer discounted adoption rates. We are a nonprofit organization and our adoption fees go directly towards saving more dogs in need. We have large medical bills, training, food, and other costs that add up. Each rescued dog costs us an average of $500.
+ How long does it take to hear back?
We receive a high number of emails daily and do our best to respond to them as quickly as we can. We will be in touch as soon as possible and aim to respond within 1-3 business days.
+ I've applied in the past, do I have to re-apply?
If you've submitted an application within the past six months, you can email adoptnash@wagsandwalks.org stating that you've submitted an application in the past. Please be sure to note the name of the dog you'd like to potentially adopt and one of our counselors will be in touch via email.
+ I recently applied but haven't heard anything. How do I follow up?
Sometimes our emails go to Spam folders, be sure to check there to make sure there's not any missed communication. If you've completed an application and haven't heard from our team after three days, you can inquire about the status at adoptnash@wagsandwalks.org.
+ Do you know the history of my dog?
Unfortunately, many dogs that we save entered the shelter as strays or were surrendered by their owners with little or no information. We do our best to include any information about their history in their profile if it is known. Otherwise, we will always share information about their personalities, health, and training based on how they've done in our program.
+ Is my dog microchipped?
Yes, we microchip all of our dogs. We will send you information about adding your contact information to the microchip in your adoption details email.
+ Is my dog potty trained?
We do our best to disclose the dog's training status in their profile or during the interview process based on how they've done in the foster's home. There may be some accidents when a dog transitions to your home as they adjust to a new environment and routine. We expect adopters to extend extra patience during the first two weeks of ownership as your dog may take some time to get accustomed to your space and schedule.

After raising her puppies, Luna is looking for a forever home where she can relax, soak up some love, and enjoy being someone’s very good girl. Luna is the chillest foster and has a wonderfully easygoing personality. She loves being near her people and especially enjoys being included in the action—group hugs are one of her favorite things! While she can be timid when first meeting someone, once Luna warms up, she’ll happily stick by your side. She’s a big cuddle bug who loves affection and is content to spend much of her day relaxing nearby! Don’t let her laid-back nature fool you though, Luna is always up for a walk! She does great on leash and can walk with a relaxed leash even with plenty of neighborhood distractions. She also loves car rides and is friendly with other dogs, happily coexisting with her foster dog! Luna is potty trained, does great in her crate, and is incredibly smart and easy to train. She already knows “sit,” “come,” “crate,” and “bedtime,” and she’s working on “lay down!” If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly, well-mannered companion, Luna is ready to be your new best friend!
