Ruger
Meet Ruger! This 5-year-old, 86lb Lab mix is a big, goofy lovebug with an even bigger heart. A true gentle giant, Ruger is social, friendly, and greets everyone he meets with a tail wag that starts in his toes and a smile that could melt anyone. He leans in for hugs, presses his cheeks into your lap for head scratches, and will happily attempt to sit on you if you let him: he truly has no idea he’s not a pocket-sized pup! Ruger is fully potty trained, does wonderfully in his crate, and is great with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He even did well with a cat! He’s also fantastic with kids, though because he can be a bit of a bulldozer and unaware of his size, he may be best suited for homes with older children. This sweet boy is incredibly affectionate, eager to please, and wants nothing more than love, snuggles, and companionship. Though he has the calm disposition of an older gentleman, Ruger still gets bursts of joyful energy, especially first thing in the morning or when running inside after yard time, complete with bunny hops and full-body wiggles. He loves lounging outdoors, though he can be vocal when something catches his attention. Ruger is heartworm-positive and currently undergoing treatment (fully covered by W&W), and he’s expected to make a full recovery. With his goofy charm, gentle nature, and endless affection, Ruger will make an incredible addition to a loving family!
