About Us

Wags & Walks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue located in Los Angeles, Nashville, and a New York pop-up. As a whole, we are a community of dog lovers working to promote shelter dogs as the best dogs in the world through advocacy of our unique family-friendly foster and adoption programs.

Development Committee Responsibilities

Wags and Walks is a community of dedicated dog lovers working to increase awareness of rescue dogs as wonderful pets, and it truly takes a community now more than ever. Wags & Walks Development Committee term is 18 months, and the committee will provide crucial support for the Development team and the Event Committee. As we continue to grow our organization internally and throughout the community, this team is critical for community engagement and connection with donors, community partners, and strategic partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising: Help raise non-grant funds by supporting both our existing fundraisers and new ideas as they arise.

  • Advocacy & Networking: Keep Wags & Walks on your radar and share our work with other dog lovers who are invested in our mission. Whether that's through tours, private events, or networking connections with Wags founder.

  • Expertise: Lend your expertise (vendor curation, PR, negotiation, sales, events, design, leadership, etc.) or point us to the right people when a project comes up, which is usually 1–2 times a year.

  • Annual Events: Pick a development category to run with for our annual fundraising events. This could include high-value auction items, corporate sponsors, group packages, etc. We need your help bringing ideas and connections to these events.

  • NY Pup-Up: Take a look at our Summer plans for New York and share any recommendations or referrals that could help us grow in that area.

  • Attendance: Join 4 committee meetings a year (2 virtual, 2 in-person) and 2 Wags & Walks events. We'll share quarterly updates on Wags & Walks' accomplishments during committee meetings, and you'll work closely with our founder, Lesley Brog.

  • Give or Get: Contribute a minimum of $25,000 a year, either monetarily or in-kind.
