Rita is a one-year-old rescue with a heart as big as her second chance. We rescued her home from the Lancaster shelter just days before she was scheduled to be euthanized. We have been fostering her until we can find her the perfect home. She came in as a stray with her brother, and while life hasn’t always been easy, Rita’s is eager to learn, she just needs love and patience. She’s incredibly affectionate and cuddly with children, and gets along with other dogs. Rita is still learning the ropes of home life, so she’ll thrive with someone who can offer consistent, patient, and loving guidance as she is still nervous. A She’s curious, smart, and eager to bond with her people. She is nervous around men she doesn’t know who come into her territory. Rita also has a strong prey drive and cannot be placed in a home with cats or small animals. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s already overcome so much and is ready to blossom, Rita might just be your girl.
