Deagol
Meet Deagol! Deagol is a 6-year-old, 32lb Hound mix with a gentle heart and a quiet, sensitive nature. This sweet boy can be a little shy at first, especially in a busy kennel environment, but it’s clear that underneath his initial nerves is a loving dog who simply needs time, patience, and kindness to feel safe. On leash, Deagol will walk with a little encouragement and seems happiest when he’s given the chance to move at his own pace. In true beagle fashion, he enjoys sniffing and exploring his surroundings, taking in all the interesting scents around the yard. Deagol appears calm and respectful around other dogs. When another Wags pup joined him unexpectedly in the yard, he remained relaxed and showed no signs of aggression. He tends to be submissive and a bit unsure, but he warms up fairly quickly and begins to loosen up once he realizes he’s in a safe space! While he seems to want affection, Deagol can be a little hesitant at first. With gentle reassurance, he’ll tolerate pets and gradually build trust. In a loving home outside the shelter environment, we believe this sweet, sensitive boy will continue gaining confidence and blossom into a wonderful companion!
