Goober

Meet Goober! This 2-year-old, 53lb mixed-breed boy brings an endless supply of joy, enthusiasm, and goofy charm wherever he goes. He’s the kind of dog who becomes your shadow fast, following you from room to room just to stay close, and then flopping down for belly rubs the second you pause. Goober is a higher-energy pup who loves to play, wrestle (in his very enthusiastic, goofy way), and be part of the action. He’s learning how to channel his excitement more appropriately and does best with structure, consistency, and opportunities to get his wiggles out. Once he’s had a good play session, he settles nicely into nap mode and becomes a total cuddle bug who’s happy to chew on a toy and relax nearby. He does great with other dogs and enjoys playful social time, though he may need guidance to keep his play style from getting too physical or overexcited. Goober is also working on potty training communication and continues to improve with routine and supervision. He’s crate trained and doing better every day with short “quiet time” breaks that help him reset. While he’s still learning boundaries like not jumping when excited, he’s responsive, eager, and truly wants to do the right thing, he just needs guidance! At his core, Goober is a sweet, affectionate, happy boy who loves deeply and just wants to be part of a family. With continued structure and training, he’s going to make an incredibly fun, loyal companion!
