Jalapeno
Meet Jalapeno! This 4-year-old, 28lb Beagle mix is a sweet, gentle boy who is slowly discovering that he can trust people. After spending much of his life outdoors and surrounded by other dogs, he's still learning what it means to feel comfortable in a home, but we're already seeing his sweet personality shine through. Jalapeno can be a little nervous during transitions, especially when leaving his kennel or heading outside, but once he's settled, he becomes a friendly, affectionate boy. He loves exploring the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and coming over for pets and scratches behind his ears. His foster says he has even enjoyed cuddling and taking naps together! He's also doing wonderfully with their resident dog, and the two have been spotted cuddling together. He's making progress on leash and may start out hesitant, but curiosity quickly takes over. Jalapeno is also a very good boy for baths, which is a huge plus! He's still working through some anxiety around his crate and potty routine, so he'll need a patient family who understands that these skills may take time. Jalapeno has already shown that he can relax, nap, eat, and settle into a home environment. With consistency and reassurance, we can't wait to see him continue coming out of his shell!
