Meet Jalapeño! This sweet 4-year-old, 28lb Beagle is a gentle, easygoing guy who may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he’ll happily follow you around for cuddles and affection. Jalapeño is a bit timid in new situations and can be easily startled by loud noises, but he’s gaining confidence every day! He’s especially happy to see his people in the morning and when they come home, and he loves having his family nearby. He’s also wonderful with kids and has formed a special bond with his foster’s 5-year-old daughter. He gets along beautifully with their senior Beagle mix, too, and the two are perfectly content to nap near each other! Despite being a Beagle, Jalapeño is a surprisingly quiet guy, his fosters haven’t heard him 'sing the song of his people' just yet! He’s typically a couch potato who enjoys lounging around, but he’ll occasionally get the zoomies and wiggle around for belly rubs. And, in true Beagle fashion, he absolutely loves food and has an impressive nose for finding any crumbs that may have been left behind! Jalapeño is fully potty trained and does well in his crate. He may whine for a few minutes at bedtime, but settles quickly and sleeps quietly through the night. This sweet boy is still learning that the world is a safe place, and he’s looking for a patient family who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to continue coming out of his shell!
