Meet Journey. This sweet 5-year-old, 20lb Cocker Spaniel mix is a sweet girl who is still learning that she is safe. Journey came to us as part of a large-scale backyard breeding case, and she is now beginning the journey toward a life filled with love and safety. Journey is still pretty fearful and currently spends most of her time in the safety of her crate, where she feels most comfortable. She isn’t ready for much interaction yet and will need adopters who are patient with her as she opens up. Her foster leaves her crate door open so she can explore when she feels ready, and she has started venturing out on her own terms. She may thrive best in a home with another confident dog to help her come out of her shell. Journey is a flight risk and will need an adopter who understands the importance of careful handling and keeping her secure as she adjusts. Journey has a long way to go, but she deserves the chance to discover what life feels like when she is safe and loved. Her journey may take time, but she’s worth it.
