Meet Lexi! This sweet 8.5-year-old, 17lb Dachshund is a gentle little girl who is ready to discover what it means to be loved and cared for. Lexi came to us from a large backyard breeding case, and after the life she’s known, it’s understandable that she can be nervous and timid when she first meets someone new. She was very scared when she first arrived, but she’s already making progress and showing us what a sweet baby she really is. Once Lexi feels comfortable, she warms up quickly and absolutely loves attention from her people. She’s happiest when she’s getting pets and spending time with someone she trusts. Her confidence has been growing since she arrived, and she’s becoming more comfortable exploring her surroundings and experiencing new things! Lexi has also been getting more confident on leash and has been enjoying playgroups with her dog friends. Lexi is looking for a loving adopter who understands that shy dogs sometimes need a little extra time to feel safe.
