Meet Minnie! This beautiful 5-year-old, 115lb Great Dane is a gentle giant who is learning what it means to feel safe and loved in a home of her own. Minnie came to us from a puppy mill breeding bust, and adjusting to life in a home has been a big change for her. She can be nervous in unfamiliar situations and spends much of her time resting in her crate, but she’s already making sweet little strides! She’s conquered the stairs, started exploring her foster home, made canine friends, and even had a few zoomies as her confidence grows! Despite her fears, Minnie is a very sweet girl who enjoys affection in small doses and will sometimes ask for more pets when she’s feeling comfortable. She’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can give her plenty of time and space to decompress without rushing her progress. Minnie is still learning the ropes of being a house dog, and leash walks are especially challenging for her right now. Because of her size and strength, she’ll benefit from an adopter experienced with Great Danes or other XL breeds who can help her build confidence at her own pace.
