Meet Peabody! This 5-year-old, 24.5lb Beagle mix is a gentle, mellow girl with a soft spirit and an easygoing personality. While Peabody can be a little shy or nervous when first settling into new environments or meeting unfamiliar people, she warms up beautifully with a little patience and quickly becomes a sweet, affectionate companion who simply enjoys being close to her people. Peabody is the definition of a low-energy couch girl. Her favorite place in the world is curled up comfortably on the couch, happily snoozing the day away beside her humans. While she enjoys relaxing at home most of all, she also loves short, leisurely walks where she can slowly sniff and explore at her own pace. She’s much more of a “stop and smell the roses” kind of girl than a long-distance walking buddy. She’s potty trained, does wonderfully in her crate overnight and when left home alone, and has proven to be an easy, low-maintenance companion in foster care. Peabody has also done well with the resident dog in her foster home and would likely thrive with another calm, older, or more laid-back canine companion who matches her mellow personality. Peabody is heartworm-positive and currently undergoing treatment, which is fully covered by Wags & Walks, and she is expected to make a full recovery.
