Petey

$0.00

Petey is an 8-year-old, 86lb mixed breed gentleman with a heart as big as he is. This sweet, affectionate boy is a total lovebug who adores his humans and thrives on companionship. Petey has a calm, easygoing nature overall. He enjoys the occasional burst of energy to play or explore, but settles down quickly and is just as happy lounging nearby, soaking up attention, or joining his people for a relaxed day at home. Petey loves leisurely walks where he can sniff and explore at his own pace, and he’s happiest when he’s included in daily life with his people. He’s potty trained, has wonderful house manners, and is generally an easy companion to have around. He’s still working through some separation anxiety in the crate and will benefit from continued patience, structure, and reassurance as he builds confidence being alone. Petey has lived with another dog previously and has shown that he can coexist successfully with canine companions once comfortable, but he can come off strong when first meeting new dogs, especially on leash or in stimulating environments. Because of this, he would do best with slow, thoughtful introductions and likely as the only dog in the home, or with an experienced adopter committed to proper management and introductions. He is not suited for homes with cats or small dogs. At his core, Petey is a deeply loving, loyal boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. With continued structure and understanding, he’s ready to bring calm companionship and big-hearted love to the right forever home!
