Meet Poppyseed! This 3-year-old, 31lb Beagle mix is a gentle, tender-hearted girl who is just beginning to come out of her shell. Poppyseed came to Wags from a backyard breeding case case, and after everything she's been through, she's understandably taking some time to feel comfortable in her new surroundings. Poppyseed is a very sweet, submissive girl who is slowly opening up. While she's still nervous, she's incredibly interested in people and clearly wants to be close to them. She's been known to settle at her person's feet, enjoy gentle pets and belly rubs, and even show interest in toys once she feels a little more comfortable. Her foster says she's beginning to wag her tail and poke her head out of her crate when they approach, a small but exciting sign that she's starting to feel safe! For now, Poppyseed feels most comfortable in her crate, where she can retreat when the world feels overwhelming. She's looking for a patient, understanding family who will let her decompress at her own pace and celebrate the little milestones along the way. Poppyseed may need some time to fully blossom, but she's already showing us that there's a sweet, affectionate girl underneath that initial shyness.
