Meet Red! This 1-year-old, 35lb mixed-breed boy is a sweet, goofy, and affectionate pup who is ready to leave his past behind and start the next chapter of his life. After being rescued from a cruelty case, Red is discovering all the good things life has to offer, and he’s loving every minute of it! Red absolutely loves people and gets incredibly excited to see his favorite humans. He’s affectionate, playful, and curious, and he loves going on walks, sniffing adventures, chewing on his favorite bones, and getting plenty of treats. He’s also wonderful with other dogs and enjoys spending time with his canine friends! Red has plenty of young-dog energy and is still learning how to settle in a home environment. When he gets excited or has trouble settling, he can become a little mouthy, so structured rest, enrichment, and redirection have been especially helpful. The good news is that Red is very treat motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement! He’s also making progress with his crate training. He goes in fairly easily with some encouragement, and while he may cry or whimper occasionally, he’s learning to settle and decompress. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is practicing scheduled daytime crate time, too. Red is fully potty trained! Red has so much personality and love to give, and he can't wait to find his forever home!
