Meet Ruthie, a 1-year-old, 48lb mixed-breed girl with a happy spirit and the best full-body wiggles. This playful, loving, and spunky pup is as smart as she is sweet, and she truly thrives on connection with her people. Ruthie is potty trained and has done well in her crate, though she’s still learning to see her crate as a fully safe, relaxing space and has already made great progress. She is also working through some separation anxiety and will need a committed adopter who can continue supporting her with structure, patience, and consistency. She has a wonderful medium energy level. always up for playtime and adventures, but able to settle when it’s time to relax. She’s highly food-motivated and loves training, making her a great candidate for continued learning. She especially enjoys mental enrichment like snuffle mats and puzzle toys. Ruthie does well with other dogs but can get excited when seeing dogs or people on walks, and is continuing to work on this with guidance. She would do best in a home (not an apartment) where she has space to decompress and thrive. Ruthie is heartworm-positive and is currently undergoing treatment. This treatment is covered by W&W, and Ruthie is expected to make a full recovery.
