Meet Shrimp! This adorable 5-year-old, 17lb Dachshund mix is a gentle little guy who’s been making wonderful progress in foster care. When he first arrived, Shrimp was shy and unsure of the world around him, but he’s been growing more confident every day and is beginning to discover that new people and experiences aren’t so scary after all! Shrimp is a sensitive, old soul who will need a little patience as he settles into his forever home. He may take some time to warm up, but watching his personality blossom as he learns to trust is well worth it. He’s even started making friends with his foster’s dog and recently discovered that playing with a ball can be pretty fun! Shrimp is still building confidence and will do best with a calm, understanding adopter who can give him time to decompress and let him adjust at his own pace. Shrimp has also been monitored for a previous medical concern involving his kidneys, but his bloodwork has stabilized, and he’s currently doing well in foster care! His future family should plan for routine veterinary visits and regular bloodwork to monitor his health.
