Meet Theo. Theo is a 1-year-old, 7lb sweet and sensitive Chihuahua mix with a gentle heart who is still building his confidence. He greets familiar people as a friendly, wiggly boy and while he can be shy and timid at first, he allows pets and gentle handling once he feels safe. Theo does well on leash and, after some initial excitement, is able to settle and enjoy a walk. When passing other dogs, he may bark due to nervousness, but with calm redirection he is able to relax and continue forward, showing great potential for learning and growth. He returns to his kennel easily and was overall assessed as calm but hesitant. Theo was previously adopted and returned through no fault of his own, and he will thrive in a patient, understanding home that offers consistency, reassurance, and time to decompress.
