Meet Vinny! This 8-month-old, 42lb Shepherd mix has the cutest ears you've ever seen and a personality to match! Vinny is smart, confident, eager to please, and is looking for an active family who will help him continue growing into an incredible adult dog! Vinny thrives on both physical exercise and mental enrichment. Whether it's a walk, a game of tug or fetch, a snuffle mat, a puzzle toy, or a training session, he's happiest when he has a job to do. He's incredibly food motivated and already knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, wait, leave it, drop it, shake, and "crate." He loves training and is always excited to learn something new! Like any adolescent puppy, Vinny has plenty of energy, but he's also learned how to settle beautifully. After a good play session or walk, he's happy to relax on the couch or snooze in his crate. He's fully potty trained, sleeps soundly in his crate overnight, and rests calmly in his crate during the day when needed! Vinny would love a playful canine companion around his size who enjoys roughhousing as much as he does, but he'd also thrive as a solo dog where he can soak up all of his family's attention. He's done well learning how to read other dogs' cues and responds nicely to redirection when play gets a little too enthusiastic. Because Vinny is still an adolescent, he can occasionally get a little mouthy during play or while he's excited, but he's gentle, highly responsive to verbal correction, and has made tremendous progress with consistency and structure. With a dog-savvy, active adopter who enjoys training and adventure, Vinny is going to make an amazing, fun best friend!
