This 2-year-old, 29-lb French Bulldog is mellow and full of silly charm. Balboa was rescued from an overcrowded shelter where he arrived with painful scabs covering his face. As he healed, it became clear that he is also partially blind in both eyes. With proper medical care, his eyesight has been steadily improving over time. Despite the challenges he has undoubtedly faced, Balboa is quietly confident and endlessly loving. Now safe in our care, he’s feeling better every day and ready for a fresh start. This social boy loves to make new friends and gets along well with other small dogs. He is laid-back, gentle, and could spend a good portion of his day happily snuggled up with you on the couch or asleep in your lap. Balboa is fully potty-trained, crate-trained, and does well on a leash with a little guidance, taking things at a comfortable pace. His gentle nature makes him easy to be around and a joy to spend time with. This sweet boy is still learning and adjusting and will benefit from patience, consistency, and space to be his perfect self. He will thrive in a loving home that understands his visual impairment and is willing to provide a predictable, supportive environment.
