Before coming into our care, she had been abandoned in the house she’d called home when her former owners moved out and left her behind. Thankfully, the renters who found her when they moved in went above and beyond to ensure she was left in good hands. She’s severely overweight, so it’s likely that she wasn’t being properly cared for by her former owners. Despite everything she’s been through, she is a friendly, affectionate pup. Poppy gets along with other dogs and has previously lived with a young kid. She even understands Spanish! She can be a little shy when meeting new friends, but warms up quickly with encouragement. Poppy is a huge fan of pets and belly rubs and is overall a pretty mellow, easy-going gal. This good girl is fully potty-trained and walks well on a leash. She loves going on walks and being out and about. She has even spent some time at cafes with her foster and lies nicely by their side.
