This 1-year-old, 17-lb gal is a gentle sweetheart. We rescued Winifred and her puppies from a dangerously overcrowded shelter. Her puppies are old enough to find their forever homes, and now it’s mama’s turn. Winifred is coming out of her shell in our care and showing us what a sweet, affectionate girl she is. She’s even gotten some adorable zoomies in the yard, and we suspect she will develop a playful streak as she continues to open up. All she wants is to be near the people she trusts, preferably getting lots of pets. She is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place and is even starting to enjoy her neighborhood strolls. We are still getting to know Winifred, and she will thrive with patient adopters who will allow her to open up at her own pace and give her plenty of love.
